Skylar Smith is an interdisciplinary textile artist from Austin, Texas, with a BFA in Fibers from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her practice combines traditional textile techniques with experimental processes, allowing material exploration to guide the work.

Skylar is often inspired by architectural sites and the natural world, and she isinterested in the shared visual language between these environments and the tension that emerges where they overlap. Carrying an archaeological quality, Skylar aims to create forms that feel unearthed rather than constructed. Rooted in post-minimalist aesthetics, her practice explores material tension and structure.
