Bio-plastic on wool.

For this piece, I developed an agar-based bio-plastic to explore the tension between natural and synthetic materials in my work. In the context of my senior thesis, which investigates a material language for the archetypal provider, I applied the bio-plastic to wool to observe how it settles and binds within the fibers. Once hardened, the material resembles a scab or skin-like surface. The internal light source evokes a womb or a pulsing animal body.
